Samsung’s Broadband HDTV To Come With Skype

Skype, which allows you to make free calls over the internet, will now come embedded with Samsung’s LED 7000 and 8000 series models. The embedded Skype Software on these Samsung HDTVs will allow users to make video and voice calls through the TVs.

Samsung has begun shipping such Television sets in the Korean Market. It will be available worldwide in the first quarter soon. Samsung has focused on the Entertainment and Communication aspect of its customers by allowing Skype to be embedded in their HDTVs. With this, Samsung users will now be able to avail rich video communication with Skype which delivers this to millions of users all over the world.

This strategic partnership between Skype and Samsung has allowed Skype to further enhance its video calling capabilities. The Samsung LED 7000 and 8000 series televisions features Samsung’s free Internet@TV service, which allows access to selected online content.

Skype accounts can be created using a simple remote control of the Television Set and a user interface which is very much the Skype would appear for the users to create accounts and perform calls.
