Apple’s App Store phenomenon was a huge hit over the world and slowly that trend is coming to India. Yes, Bharti Airtel has now announced its own app store all over India in the coming months.
Usually, mobile phone manufacturers get into this business finding profits, but this time around in India, mobile operators have jumped in to this app phenomenon.

Mobile operator apart from Airtel, Aircel too has announced a partnership with Infosys to launch a mobile app store in India.
Reliance too joined this trend and said it would be coming up with an App Store called RWorld 2.0. The Reliance App Store will have a separate GSM and a CDMA version.
Airtel, in India, has launched its own app store for its customers with over 1,250 apps. The Airtel App Store named as “App Central”, will feature apps across 25 categories for business, games, books and social networking.
The cheapest app available costs Rs. 5. While you need apps it adds upto the monthly bills rather than paying it separately.
To use the Airtel App Central, you need a GPRS enabled handset and an Airtel connection. Accessing the App Central is more easy. Just go to the Airtel Live homepage or send an SMS with the text “app” to 54321 to receive the direct URL on your mobile phone.
